Boonsak Biography
Known as “Superman” in his home country, Boonsak Ponsana is the top ranking singles player in Thailand. Picking up the racket at the early age of 7, the former law student put aside his studies to focus on the sport of badminton to fulfill his fathers dream for Boonsak to become a National Badminton Team Player of Thailand.
At the young age of 22, Boonsak dominated the competition and won the 2004 Thailand Open. In the same year, he joined the top 4 players in the world in the Olympic Games at Athens. After winning the Singapore Open in 2007, he reached his highest BWF world ranking of 7th in the world in 2007.
As of August 2009, Boonsak will wear the Kumpoo name, and “Take the Challenge” against the rest of the world from the 16th place ranking (as of July 23rd, 2009).
