On December 2, 2012, the Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton Grand Prix Gold 2012 came to a successful close at the Macau Forum. As the 14th stop of the 2012 BWF Grand Prix circuit, the tournament featured a total prize purse of US$120,000 (approximately MOP 1 million) and attracted 320 top athletes from 19 countries and regions, including China, England, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Chinese Taipei—the highest number of participants in the tournament's history.
