January 14, 2026 — In the men’s doubles Round of 32 at the recently concluded India Open (super 750), TEAM KUMPOO members and Malaysian pair LWI Shenghao / CHIA Weijie fought hard but were ultimately defeated by the Japanese powerhouse duo Hiroki Midorikawa / Kyohei Yamashita, currently ranked world No. 22, bringing their campaign to an end at the last 32.
Facing an experienced and well-synchronized top-ranked pair, LWI and CHIA showed courage and composure on court, fully executing their pre-match tactical plan and competing point by point. Although they were unable to advance, their performance against a world-class combination served as a valuable test of their current level and recent training progress, reflecting a fearless competitive mindset and strong fighting spirit.
Next, LWI Sheng Hao and CHIA Weijie will continue their Asian tour at the Indonesia Masters and the Thailand Masters.
