To enrich campus cultural life and improve students' physical fitness, the 31st Badminton Championship of Capital Colleges and Universities and the Badminton Event of the 1st Sports Meeting of Capital Colleges and Universities were held at the Olympic Gymnasium of Beijing University of Technology on April 1st and 2nd, 2023. During the opening ceremony, Ren Wei, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the Department of Physical Education at Beijing University of Technology, delivered a welcome speech. Li Zhigui, Secretary-General of the Badminton Branch of the Beijing University Student Sports Association, welcomed the participating schools and expressed gratitude to Beijing University of Technology for its support and assistance. Mao Zhihe, President of the Badminton Branch of the Beijing University Student Sports Association, presented the "Contribution Award for Promoting College Badminton" to Ren Wei, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the Department of Physical Education at Beijing University of Technology.

It is reported that this tournament has recently been the largest in scale, with the largest number of participants and the highest competitive level of college badminton nationwide. Nearly 800 people from 9 high-level badminton project schools and 62 badminton teams from ordinary schools participated in the competition, reflecting the mass participation and national fitness nature of badminton. Naturally, such a national-level event has attracted the attention of authoritative media, and this tournament was also covered by Minsheng Weekly of People's Daily.。
To ensure the smooth conduct of the competition, the Competition Department of the Beijing Badminton Association dispatched 22 international referees, national referees, and first-level referees. The Badminton and Small Ball Teaching and Research Section of Beijing Sport University deployed 24 badminton professional teachers and students to serve the event.

To ensure the physical health of student athletes and the smooth conduct of the competition, all student participants from each school underwent pre-competition medical examinations and purchased insurance, and signed voluntary participation commitment letters. The competition was carried out in phases and batches. The Olympic Gymnasium of Beijing University of Technology provided strong support to the event by offering 18 courts daily and a grandstand for athletes to rest and watch the games.
As a co-organizer, KUMPOO provided equipment support for this tournament to help participants better unleash their strengths, making the competition more spectacular and competitive.

After two days of intense and thrilling competition, Peking University claimed the championships in two events: women's singles and women's doubles in the high-level Group A. Beijing University of Technology won the men's singles championship in Group A high-level, while Beijing Jiaotong University secured the men's doubles title in the same group. China University of Political Science and Law took the mixed doubles championship in Group A high-level. In Group Yi A, the University of International Business and Economics won the men's singles championship, and Tsinghua University emerged victorious in both women's singles and mixed doubles.
