July 27, 2026 — At the recently concluded China Open 2026 (Super 1000), Team Kumpoo member and Hong Kong mixed doubles player Chan Yin Chak stepped onto the Super 1000 stage for the first time in his career, marking a significant milestone in his professional journey. Although his campaign ended in the opening round, his performance against the world’s No.9 pair showcased his courage, potential, and determination to challenge the very best.

Making his first appearance at a Super 1000 tournament, Chan admitted that he felt both nervous and excited. In the opening round, he faced a formidable Chinese mixed doubles pair with a career-high world ranking of No.9. Against the experienced home favorites, Chan showed no fear.

In the first game, both sides exchanged points throughout an intense battle. Despite maintaining strong pressure and matching his opponents point for point, Chan’s pair narrowly fell behind in the closing stages, losing the game 19–21.

Entering the second game, the intensity of the Super 1000 stage presented a new challenge. With limited experience competing at the highest level, Chan’s physical management gradually became more difficult, and he was ultimately unable to force a deciding game, ending his tournament journey in the Round of 32.

From Super 300, to Super 750, and now his first appearance at a Super 1000 event, every step of Chan Yin Chak’s journey has been built with determination and steady progress. Although he was unable to advance further this time, the battle against the world No.9 pair provided invaluable experience in handling high-pressure competition and helped him identify the areas needed for further improvement.
