Mahoor Shahzad, the first badminton player in Pakistan’s history to qualify for the Olympic Games, is now officially part of the Team Kumpoo!

Currently ranked World No. 146, Mahoor has secured 45 international match victories. Her Olympic journey began to take shape in 2020 after reaching the finals of the Kenya International and the semifinals of the Uganda International. Fueled by ambition, she set her sights on the world’s biggest sporting stage. In 2021, Mahoor received a coveted Tripartite Commission invitation—becoming the first Pakistani badminton player to ever participate in the Olympics, a historic milestone that made headlines and inspired national pride across Pakistan.

Mahoor picked up a badminton racket at the age of 11 and, from the start, faced challenges far greater than most of her male peers: limited training facilities, pressure to improve rapidly, expectations from family, and even public skepticism. But none of these obstacles deterred her. On the contrary, they made her more determined. Through sheer resilience and hard work, Mahoor turned her dream into reality and became a symbol of hope and pride for the entire nation.

Her fearless spirit and relentless drive perfectly align with Kumpoo’s core belief: TAKE THE CHALLENGE. It’s a shared passion for badminton and deep respect for athletic perseverance that brings Kumpoo and Mahoor together as like-minded partners.

This partnership also holds special meaning in the broader context of China-Pakistan relations. This year marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Pakistan—a friendship described by President Xi Jinping as one of mutual support through thick and thin. With this long-standing bond in mind, choosing Mahoor Shahzad as our ambassador felt not only right, but natural.
