October 1, 2026 — Kumpoo officially announced an endorsement partnership with Canadian badminton doubles star Josephine Wu, a formidable force on the Pan American badminton circuit, who officially joined Team Kumpoo.

Born in Canada in 1995, Wu showcased her exceptional doubles potential from an early age, winning three titles at the Canadian Junior National Championships in 2009. She made her international senior debut in 2012. In 2016, she claimed the women’s doubles title with her partner at the Pan Am Individual Championships 2016, before winning the mixed doubles title at the USA International Series in 2017.

In recent years, Josephine Wu has established herself as a dominant force on the Pan American circuit. In 2022, she claimed the Women’s Doubles title at the Mexico International Series and the Mixed Doubles title at the Pan American Badminton Championships. She enjoyed a breakthrough 2023 campaign, winning both the Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles titles at the Panamerican Games Santiago 2023, while also claiming multiple crowns at the Peru International, Guatemala International and Pan American Badminton Championships. From 2024 to 2026, Josephine Wu continued to deliver strong performances, winning the Mixed Doubles title at the Polish Open 2024, the Women’s Team title at the Pan Am M&F Cup 2024, and the Women’s Doubles title at the Vietnam International Challenge 2026. She also reached the Women’s Doubles semifinals at the Ruichang China Masters 2026.

Josephine Wu’s career, however, has not been without adversity. During her pursuit of qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics, she suffered a serious meniscus injury to her right knee. Determined to secure an Olympic berth, she postponed surgery and competed through the injury, eventually sustaining severe damage to her anterior cruciate ligament. Despite the severity of her injuries, Josephine Wu kept fighting. After more than ten months of intensive rehabilitation, she made a resilient comeback and was selected to represent Canada at the BWF Sudirman Cup Finals 2025. Her resilience and determination embody the true spirit of sport — continuing to move forward in the face of challenges.
