March 2, 2026, Mülheim — At the conclusion of the 2026 German Open, two TEAM KUMPOO members — Finnish national player Kalle Koljonen and Thai star Kantaphon Wangcharoen — competed against world-class opponents on one of badminton’s premier stages, demonstrating resilience and fighting spirit.
This year’s tournament brought together top players from around the globe, making for fierce competition. Kantaphon delivered a strong performance in the opening round, defeating a young Danish opponent in straight games, 2:0, to advance comfortably to the second round. There, he faced Vietnam’s Nguyen Nhat, ranked world No. 29. Despite his determined effort, Wangcharoen was ultimately outplayed on the day and concluded his campaign in the Round of 16.
Kalle Koljonen’s opening match proved equally demanding. Facing a young German player competing on home soil, Kalle battled through an intense three-game contest. Although he fought hard throughout the match, he narrowly missed progression to the next round.
While neither player reached the podium at this year’s German Open, their performances were nonetheless commendable. Wangcharoen displayed stable technical and tactical form, while Koljonen showed grit and perseverance under pressure. Both athletes gained invaluable experience that will serve as a foundation for upcoming competitions.
Kumpoo firmly believes that true growth is forged through challenge. Every encounter with the world’s elite is a stepping stone toward higher stages. The experience gained by Wangcharoen and Koljonen in Germany will undoubtedly translate into greater confidence and strength in future international battles.
Kumpoo will continue to stand alongside every Team Kumpoo athlete, empowering performance through professional equipment, embracing new challenges together, and writing new chapters of team glory on the global stage.
