August 24, 2026 — At the recently concluded 2026 PPA Shenzhen Open, Team Kumpoo athlete Lingwei Kong delivered an outstanding performance in the women’s doubles event, battling her way to the final and ultimately finishing runner-up.
Held from August 20 to 23 at the Bao An Sports Center Gymnasium in Shenzhen, the tournament marked Shenzhen’s first international professional pickleball event under the PPA system and was one of the highest-level professional tour stops in Asia. Professional players from multiple countries and regions gathered for intense competition.
In the women’s doubles event, Kong and her partner showed strong chemistry throughout both the group stage and knockout rounds, advancing all the way to the final. Facing a formidable opponent, the pair dropped the opening game. However, Kong quickly regrouped and responded with a dominant 11–3 victory in the second game, demonstrating her composure and competitive ability under pressure.
The deciding game remained closely contested, with both sides fighting for every point. Kong and her partner gave everything until the final rally but ultimately fell just short, securing the women’s doubles runner-up title.
As one of the first athletes signed by Kumpoo when the brand entered pickleball in 2024, Lingwei Kong has continued to write her own story on the court—from winning the Ho Chi Minh Open to claiming runner-up honors at the PPA Shenzhen Open.
