August 10, 2026 — At the recently concluded Korea Masters 2026, Team Kumpoo athletes delivered outstanding performances. Newly signed Indian women’s singles star Ashmita Chaliha stormed through the tournament to claim the women’s singles championship, presenting the perfect first achievement after joining Team Kumpoo.

In the women’s singles event, newly joined Team Kumpoo athlete Ashmita Chaliha displayed exceptional competitive form, overcoming strong opponents throughout the tournament to reach the final. In the championship match, she faced the tournament’s No.4 seed, a top player from China.

In the opening game, Ashmita was slow to settle into the match and conceded the first game. However, she quickly adjusted her tactics in the second game, increasing the attacking tempo. With powerful smashes and aggressive smash-and-net follow-up plays, she successfully turned the momentum around, taking the second game and forcing the match into a deciding game.

In the deciding game, both players remained locked in a close battle during the opening exchanges. As the game entered the latter stage, Ashmita created multiple attacking opportunities through delicate net cross-court shots. She then capitalized with powerful smashes to produce a 6–0 scoring run, eventually closing out the match 21–14 to secure the women’s singles championship.

There, he faced a young Chinese contender born in 2004, battling back from a set down to level the match, before ultimately bowing out in the last four due to physical fatigue.

Also representing Team Kumpoo in the men's singles were Kantaphon Wangcharoen and Kalle Koljonen. On the mixed doubles court, the Australian pairing of Nozomi Shimizu and Andika Ramadiansyah took to the court, further showcasing the squad's overall depth.
