October 25, 2026 — Team Kumpoo athlete Chan Yin Chak, a mixed doubles player from Hong Kong, China, competed alongside his partner at the recently concluded French Open 2026. As a BWF World Tour Super 750 tournament, the event brought together many of the world’s top players. Taking on successive rivals, Chan delivered a strong performance on the international stage.

In the opening round, Chan and his partner faced a formidable mixed doubles pair from Chinese Taipei, who are currently ranked No.11 in the world. Undaunted by the challenge, the duo combined aggressive attacking play with tight net interceptions to secure a straight-games 2-0 victory and advance to the next round.
In the second round, they faced an even stronger Danish pair, who are currently ranked No.3 in the world. The opponents took the opening game with their powerful attacks. Chan and his partner responded with a tactical adjustment, using patient rallies and varied shot placement to level the match in the second game. The deciding game saw an intense battle, but despite their determined efforts, they fell short on crucial points and ultimately suffered a narrow defeat.
From sweeping the world No.11 pair in the opening round to pushing the world No.3 pair all the way to a deciding game in the second round, Chan demonstrated his ability to compete against the world’s elite in a demanding French Open.
Team Kumpoo will continue to stand alongside Chan Yin Chak as he takes on new challenges and strives for further progress on the international stage.
