In January this year, at Kumpoo’s 2026 Brand Conference, the company marked its 25th anniversary with what it described not as a celebration, but a reset.
Among the products unveiled that day, the KH-G805 LITE PRO stood out as a core technical release — a performance badminton shoe positioned not as a trend piece, but as a long-term statement.
Now fully launched and worn in real competition, the shoe has naturally sparked discussion. Questions have surfaced about its development logic, its technical positioning, and where it stands within a crowded high-performance category.

At the earliest stage of development, Kumpoo’s R&D team conducted a detailed evaluation of one of the most respected high-performance badminton shoes in the advanced amateur market — a model widely praised for its lightweight feel and court speed.
That research was deliberate.
Progress in performance footwear does not happen in isolation. It requires understanding why certain products succeed — and where their compromises lie.
In this case, the trade-off was familiar: extreme weight reduction often narrows the margin for structural stability and impact protection.
The brief became precise:
- Retain the lightness.
- Reinforce the structure.
- Improve the overall experience for the majority of serious players.
As the project lead put it internally, this was never about replication. It was about responding to real player feedback with a more complete solution.
Defining What “Professional” Actually Means
“Pro” is often used as a descriptor. In this project, it was treated as an engineering objective.
The KH-G805 LITE PRO was built around three performance equations: weight and stability, cushioning and initiation, containment and breathability.
1. Lightweight — Without Structural Sacrifice
The upper construction combines TPU reinforcement with engineered composite mesh to reduce excess mass while maintaining lateral containment.
At the core of the shoe sits Kumpoo’s first fully self-developed VeloLite high-rebound midsole. VeloLite is designed to deliver rapid energy return at toe-off while maintaining controlled compression on landing.
Internally, the system is supported by:
- A rigid wraparound TPU containment frame
- Targeted impact-absorption modules
- A calibrated carbon plate for torsional control
The objective was not minimalism. It was controlled speed.
In extended match testing, experienced players consistently noted improved heel lockdown over full sessions and greater confidence during aggressive push-offs and directional changes — areas where ultra-light builds often show instability.
The result is a sensation often described as staying “low and connected” to the court — secure, but not restrictive.
2. Cushioning and Acceleration — A Tuned Balance
Shock absorption and responsiveness operate in tension. Excess softness disperses energy; excessive rigidity increases cumulative joint load.
The VeloLite midsole compound was calibrated using movement data and foot-pressure mapping collected from hundreds of advanced amateur players. The goal was not exaggerated cushioning, but controlled elasticity.
Compression is moderated. Rebound is immediate.
Heavier players performing repeated rear-court jump landings report reduced knee stress. Meanwhile, the forefoot response remains sharp during rapid net interceptions and first-step accelerations.
This balance is not incidental. It is data-driven.
3. Containment Without Overheating
High-support shoes frequently sacrifice airflow to maintain structure.
The KH-G805 LITE PRO addresses this through zoned mesh density and multi-area ventilation perforations. Structural reinforcement is placed along stress lines rather than uniformly thickening the upper.
The collar padding is calibrated to secure the ankle without over-compression, allowing the internal environment to remain breathable even during extended, high-intensity rallies.

Engineering Enabled by Vertical Integration
One of the least visible but most decisive factors behind this project is Kumpoo’s vertically integrated manufacturing structure.
Since 2008, the company has operated its own dedicated footwear facility — a rarity among domestic badminton brands. This independence allows full control over:
- Last shaping and internal volume calibration
- Material selection and compound formulation
- Midsole density tuning
- Carbon plate geometry and positioning
VeloLite itself is a product of this system — developed entirely in-house as a core proprietary platform.
This structure makes iteration immediate. If internal slippage exceeds tolerance by a millimeter, the last is re-profiled. If torsional stiffness during extreme defensive lunges feels excessive, the carbon layout is re-tested. Adjustments move directly from design table to sample to on-court validation.
The KH-G805 LITE PRO is not defined by a single innovation. It is defined by accumulated refinements — enabled by control over the entire production chain.
Every stitch and material decision reflects 25 years of accumulated experience in badminton equipment manufacturing — and a continued insistence on technical accountability.
